"Special status would not come through these street plays and it would come into reality through united struggle of the people alone. This status should enhance the people’s status (social and economic)," the statement read.Special status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh is a complex issue and to implement it, one should have commitment for the people’s interests, the statement said. Both leaders with their selfish, financial and political benefits suppressed the demand, Jugabandhu alleged. The NDA government changed its stand on SCS to special package and Chandrababu supported it. Other political parties too are taking precautions to avoid the people to unite and fight, it said adding that all the parties are involved in opportunistic politics to get power rather than achieving the goal of special status. VISAKHAPATNAM: CPI Maoists of Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOB SZC) have given a call for state-wide bandh on May 21 demanding special status to the state.Maoists have alleged that state and central governments have an intention to deceive the people, they have not included proper promises for the development of the state in the bifurcation Act, which has no direction or objective. They urged the people not only to fight for the special status, but also fight for the new assurances to solve several basic issues in agricultural, industrial sectors and matters related to tribals, Dalits, minorities and women.AOB SZC Maoists released a press release in the name of its official spokesperson Jugabandhu on Thursday to TOI urging the people to beware of political street plays in assembly and parliament by the political parties."Special status would not come through these street plays and it would come into reality through united struggle of the people alone. This status should enhance the people’s status (social and economic)," the statement read.Special status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh is a complex issue and to implement it, one should have commitment for the people’s interests, the statement said. Modi and Chandrababu have no commitment for SCS because the BJP and it supporters like land lords and business tycoons will not get any benefits. Chandrababu, in alliance with the BJP, looted the state. Both leaders with their selfish, financial and political benefits suppressed the demand, Jugabandhu alleged. The NDA government changed its stand on SCS to special package and Chandrababu supported it. Even finance minister Jaitley announced blatant lie that other backward states would also raise voice if AP gets SCS. The Modi government will not solve or attempt the unequal development issue in the country. Because agitations would start in other states and it would get negative results in the elections and also no benefits to its strong supporters-Adanis and Ambanis, the statement read.Even Chandrababu had also followed the same line along with his family benefits. After suspecting threat to his political career, Naidu took the ‘U’ turn. Other political parties too are taking precautions to avoid the people to unite and fight, it said adding that all the parties are involved in opportunistic politics to get power rather than achieving the goal of special status. .The Maoist leader said that all parties have been trying to infuse that unemployment and other issues would be solved through SCS, but SCS is not the medicine for all issues. People should know that Nagaland, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, which have the SCS, are still legging behind in sectors like education, medical and health and employment. Even if the AP gets SCS, the rulers would not spend funds on backward areas and people will not get justice. People should not fell prey to such parties. The Maoists also gave some suggestions that a high court bench should be set up in Kurnool and Guntakal Railway Zone besides various projects should be set up in Rayalaseema region.
