Enquiry starts into Vuda layout irregularities

The vigilance enquiry too found certain irregularities during acquisition of land by Vuda by interpolating revenue records and grabbing government lands. The probe also detected irregularities during the land pooling stage for Ozone Valley project. The land scam in Ozone Valley project itself was said to be of Rs 500 crore.According to sources, then Vuda vice-chairman K Sasidhar sent a report to the government pertaining to the irregularities in Vuda layouts in 2011. Visakhapatnam: The chief commissioner of land administration (CCLA) has initiated a departmental enquiry into the alleged irregularities committed during the land pooling process of Ozone Valley project and nine other layouts within the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority ( Vuda ) limits.The officials checked documents and records at the Vuda office on Thursday and informed that the enquiry will also continue on Friday. The irregularities are allegedly to the tune of hundreds of crores of rupees.

Some of these layouts are in Madhurawada, Cyber Valley and other places. The irregularities are allegedly to the tune of hundreds of crores of rupees. The land scam in Ozone Valley project itself was said to be of Rs 500 crore.According to sources, then Vuda vice-chairman K Sasidhar sent a report to the government pertaining to the irregularities in Vuda layouts in 2011. He also asked for an in-depth inquiry.In 2014, the government gave the case to the vigilance and enforcement department. The vigilance enquiry too found certain irregularities during acquisition of land by Vuda by interpolating revenue records and grabbing government lands. The probe also detected irregularities during the land pooling stage for Ozone Valley project. On June 1, the state government ordered a departmental enquiry by the CCLA to look into the matter.Speaking to TOI, K Sarada Devi, joint secretary at the office of CCLA, who verified records at Vuda office on Thursday, said they have to study 3,000 to 4,000 pages of records as part of the probe.
