At a programme organised by Sahiti Sravanthi, Forum for Development of North Andhra general secretary A. Aja Sarma garlanded the statue of Sri Sri on Beach Road and recalled the richness of his poetry.

Praja Spandana president C.S. Rao, Yuvasahiti convener P. Rajesh Kumar, Mastan Reddy and S. Govindarajulu spoke. While his sympathies for the underdog and art for society’s sake that reflected in his works left an indelible impression on generations of readers, the visible slide in today’s cultural scenario was regrettable, speakers said. Obscenity and commercialisation were ruling the roost, they said. At a programme organised by Sahiti Sravanthi, Forum for Development of North Andhra general secretary A. Aja Sarma garlanded the statue of Sri Sri on Beach Road and recalled the richness of his poetry. Sravanthi secretary A.V. Ramana Rao, G. Ramana of Praja Natya Mandali and G. V. N. Chalapati participated.
