more-in Alleging involvement of ruling party leaders, CPI all-India secretary K. Narayana on Sunday demolished the compound wall on an allegedly encroached land at Kommadi. Accompanied by party assistant secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy and other leaders, he went to the 10.18 acres of land in Survey No. 28/2 of Kommadi, demolished the compound wall and planted CPI flags. A hut on the premises was burnt down. He recalled that during his visit in last June a wall on the site was partially damaged. He said the land was given to Dakavarapu Ramulu by the government and it was being stated that it was bought by a person belonging to Hyderabad from Ramulu’s descendents. However, some important persons were involved and that was why attempts were being made to close the case, he alleged. He said the State government should make public the report of Special Investigation Team that had gone into the allegations of land-grab and take criminal action against those involved. The reason for not making the report pubic even six months after it was submitted was because of the involvement of ruling party leaders, he alleged. It would be a loss of face to the government if the names were made public by CPI, he added. Mr. Narayana demanded that the government resume the land and provide housing to the poor there. He asserted that if the government failed to do so, the CPI would mobilise the poor and distribute the land to them. Party State secretariat member A.J. Stalin, district secretary Balepalli Venkataramana and city secretary M. Paidiraju and other workers participated in the protest.
