Vizag to host Pro Masters Badminton League from July 30

The players were selected by the owners of six teams Wristy Masters, Shining Stars, Rhino Smashers, Himalayan Tigers, Amaravathi Sunrises and Hyderabad Warriors during an auction,” PMBL organising secretary J.B.S. Vidyadhar told the media here on Tuesday. Olympian V. Diju, Arjuna awardee George Thomas and international players including Shrikant Bakshi, Jasheel Ismail, Jason Xavier, Vijay Lancy, Neelima Chowdary and Deepthi Ch and few others will be participating in the tournament. League format The league format includes men’s double, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Each team consists of 12 male and four female shuttlers and they will compete in 75+ (age of both the players combined), 85+, 95+ and 105+ men’s doubles, 70+ ladies doubles, 75+ and 80+ mixed doubles match formats. One of the senior most players is around 70 years in the panel, said Mr. Vidyadhar. Live streaming Six teams will be divided into two groups and each team will play against the other two teams in the group. The table toppers team of each group will enter the semi-finals. The PMBL will witness more than 100 matches. The winners will receive ?6 lakh and the runners-up ?3 lakh. The matches will be streamed live on YouTube.
