Students go on protests over detention

VISAKHAPATNAM: Students of DSNLU conducted a protest here on Friday after being detained for not being able to clear their held-over papers.A total of 78 students were detained according to DSNLU authorities. The detained students are from different academic years, authorities said.Explaining the detention rule, DSNLU registrar Dayananda Murthy said the students were given opportunities since 2017 to appear for a quick repeat exam, apart from the regular supplementary exam that follows.However, students said many who had failed could not appear for the repeat exam as it was introduced in the middle of the academic year.
