A healthy snack should be less in quantity to the amount of a regular meal and taken at least two hours before a regular meal. Many times children suffer from constipation, urine infections because of poor water intake. “Children should not be allowed to binge on foods high in sugar content and other high calorie foods,” says Dr. Srikant. Poor nutrition compromises not only on the quality of life of schoolchildren but also on their potential to excel in academic pursuit. Skipping breakfast leads to poor concentration and dip in the energy levels.
