Sanskrit scholar Raghunadha felicitated

Noted Telugu and Sanskrit scholar Salaka Raghunadha Sarma was felicitated on Monday evening at Lalitha Peetham where he delivered the first of his two lectures at the nine-day ‘Mahabharatha Utsava’ discourse series. I inherited the legacy of giving food to those in the need of it. He has also specialised in both Telugu and Sanskrit grammar and published around 80 research papers. “From my father, a school teacher, I learnt my first lessons in Sanskrit and Telugu. After his retirement, Raghunadha Sarma moved to Rajahmundry in 2009 where he established Annajnana Samaradhana, a service body for providing food to the poor everyday, by spending ?6 lakh till date.

An authority on Mahabharat with many books and articles on the great epic to his credit, Raghunadha Sarma was conferred with the ‘Maharshi Badarayana Vyasa Samman’ by the President of India on August 15 this year. He has also specialised in both Telugu and Sanskrit grammar and published around 80 research papers. For 33 years, he has worked in Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, and was a member of the academic council of many universities including Sri Sathya Sai Deemed University. After his retirement, Raghunadha Sarma moved to Rajahmundry in 2009 where he established Annajnana Samaradhana, a service body for providing food to the poor everyday, by spending ?6 lakh till date. He runs a monthly journal Sri Raja Rajeswari for propagating ‘Arshavidya’. “From my father, a school teacher, I learnt my first lessons in Sanskrit and Telugu. I inherited the legacy of giving food to those in the need of it. I believe in giving back to the society in my own humble way whatever I can,” he said.
