more-in The body of a married woman was found under suspicious circumstances at her house at Ravindra Nagar under Arilova police station limits on Friday morning. Her parents allege that their son-in-law, who is absconding at present, had killed the woman for more dowry. The deceased has been identified as V. Uma (30), a resident of Ravindra Nagar area. She got married to V. Gopi Krishna Kumar, a private firm employee, some six years ago and they have two sons. According to Arilova Police Station Inspector Tirupathi Rao, the woman was found lying dead on the floor with a piece of saree tied to her neck, while another small piece of saree was tied to the sunshade of a window. ‘Suicide not ruled out’ Police say that there are two possibilities: Uma might have been killed by her husband who had left the body on the floor to make it appear as suicide or she might have hanged herself. “As of now, it also can not be ruled out that Gopi Krishna might have seen the body hanging from the window and cut the saree before fleeing due to fear,” Inspector Tirupathi Rao said. It was Gopi Krishna who had alerted the parents of Uma about her death through a text message and asked them to come home urgently. However, he later switched off his phone, said the police. However, Uma’s parents alleged that Gopi Krishna had been harassing her for dowry. A case has been registered at Arilova Police station and the body has been sent for post-mortem. Investigation is on.
