Students get doubts cleared at The Hindu education fair

Students aspiring to pursue higher education the reputed universities abroad thronged the education fair jointly organised by The Hindu and the IDP Education, in the city on Tuesday. Students interacting with the representatives of universities at the education fair, in the city on Tuesday. Those who attended the education fair that included a panel discussion and a seminar found it quite convenient to seek information from various desks. It had university representatives from the US, the UK and Canada clarifying the queries of students. According to assistant destination manager of IDP Education, Senthilnathan Kamalanathan, the registration count for the event crossed 400.

Enquiries about courses, scholarships and job opportunities started trickling in as the programme was threw open. It had university representatives from the US, the UK and Canada clarifying the queries of students. Academic performance The desk of The University of Maine, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University and Western Michigan University appeared busy as a number of candidates sought information on the courses being offered there. “Most of the students enquire about scholarship and post-study work facility. We give them an overall picture of how it works in the US which is based on their academic performance,” said Ashok H. Gurjar, Professor and Chair of Department of Civil Engineering, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida. Those who attended the education fair that included a panel discussion and a seminar found it quite convenient to seek information from various desks. “I wanted to pursue my PG in the US and my area of interest is Aeronautical engineering. The venue offers a good number of options to pick up from,” said G. Susmitha, a third year B.Tech student. According to assistant destination manager of IDP Education, Senthilnathan Kamalanathan, the registration count for the event crossed 400. “After receiving an encouraging response in the Australian education fair held previous month, we wanted to provide a big opportunity for candidates who wants to study abroad and that is why we have included three destinations (USA, UK and Canada) this time,” he added. The event gave a chance to aspirants to clear a plenty of doubts pertaining to short term as well as long term programmes in their choice of university.
