Govt to conduct town planning forum on Fridays

The government has also outlined objectives of the forum, acting as a pre-consultation centre for developers, investors and licensed technical persons, acting as a grievance redressal mechanism in town planning matters, uniform applicability/interpretation of rules, etc.The Municipal Commissioner/Metropolitan Commissioner concerned along with the town planning section head and staff will be available in the forum. Visakhapatnam: The state government has decided to conduct 'Town Planning Open Forum’ on every Friday in all urban local bodies and urban development authorities, which also cover the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority.The state government has brought out several reforms in the town planning over the year, including online building permissions, delegation of powers to various functionaries to speed up the service delivery, introduction of Request Transfer System for transparent resolution issue, etc.Now, the state government expects that the ‘Town Planning Open Forum’ will fast-track its town planning grievance management mechanism further and increase public satisfaction.
