These were the observations made by some startup founders at the ‘Josh Talks’ session conducted by the GITAM Centre for Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development (GCIED) cell, here on Thursday. Leadership challenges More than 200 students stayed glued to their seats as the young startups dealt with a variety of topics on how to lead a venture to success. G. Anil Chowdary, founder of Green Wave Environmental Solutions, explained how standing out from the crowd and identifying the market were crucial for any startup to be able to generate revenue. “More startups fail in addressing the issues pertaining to execution, personality and leadership challenges than the ones related to technology or strategy,” he said. Pavan Reddy, founder of Yantranet, shared insights on how great innovators and entrepreneurs thought out-of-the-box and explained how his startup worked with highly scalable secure and flexible cloud or on premise-based IOT platform. Wellness management Shyam Mantha, founder of SHMedics, expressed satisfaction while running his startup for senior citizens. “The SHMedic is lifestyle and wellness management company meant for parents of NRIs. We have developed customised services for the clientèle,” he said. Speakers from various startups such as Localwire, Spontom, Plot17, Stardust Adventures also shared their experiences during the ‘Josh Talks’. Inaugurating the workshop, GITAM Institute of Technology principal K. Lakshmiprasad said entrepreneurs needed the right knowledge and guidance to do better. He pointed out that three skills such as initiation, innovation and risk tackling abilities, should be imbibed by the young entrepreneurs before initiating a business.
