Fourth edition of ‘Vizag Going Pink’ marathon on October 27

Actor Milind Soman, who is supporting the initiative through his organisation United Sisters Foundation, told the media here on Monday that the multi-category marathon would be organised in 3 km, 5 km and 10 km categories. “The movement of women’s health began in Mumbai in 2012 and it has spread to more than 60 cities in the country now. More women are now treating their health as a priority. If we envisage becoming a health conscious country, women health is important,” Mr. Soman said. The run also aims at creating awareness about breast cancer, its causes and prevention measures. Registration Online registrations for the marathon can be done at www.indiagoingpink.com. For offline registration, interested people can visit Tanishq, Encircle or JD Institute of Fashion. The number of participants has been growing gradually since the past three editions of the marathon. In the first edition, more than 1,800 women participated which increased to 2,000 in the second edition. Last year, more than 3,000 women participated in the marathon. The organisers are expecting over 5,000 women this time.
