Motivated by her husband late Ramana, she ran a free clinic at Simhachalam on Sundays for more than three decades.

The first woman to start a private hospital in the city, Ms. Mangamma had sensitised parents on gender equality. A devotee of Sri Sathya Saibaba, she was guided by the motto of service to the poor and took a nominal consultation fee of ?5. When there was a complete bandh in government hospitals during the Andhra movement, she was the only woman doctor who had taken initiative and conducted free gynaecology surgeries for poor patients in the present Lepakshi building. Motivated by her husband late Ramana, she ran a free clinic at Simhachalam on Sundays for more than three decades. State president of Sri Satya Sai Seva organisations S.G.
