Big gap in vigil: No frisking at airport entry

Staff working at the airport are issued an airport entry pass (AEP), which gives them access to the airport. Once they show their air ticket and a valid ID card to prove their identity, they are allowed inside. Air travellers are not frisked or scanned at the forecourt or entry point. There is no active surveillance or restrictions imposed on staff working at the airport. There is no active surveillance or restrictions imposed on staff working at the airport. This is what led to the knife attack on Jagan Reddy.CISF inspector-general CV Anand said, “Air travellers are not frisked or their luggage is checked at the entry point. Once they show their air ticket and a valid ID card to prove their identity, they are allowed inside. Staff working at the airport are issued an airport entry pass (AEP), which gives them access to the airport. The accused is an AEP holder. CISF’s responsibility starts from the security hold area, where frisking is done and baggage is screened.”
