Holiday expo inaugurated in the city to promote tourism

Visakhapatnam: To reach out to travel professionals in Tier II and III cities and explore the potential of cities, The 15th edition of holiday expo is being organised in the city. The three-day event, which was inaugurated by P Basanth Kumar, metropolitan commissioner, VMRDA on Friday, will showcase glimpses from the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.A few of the exhibitors include the government-run tourism departments of Gujarat, Jharkhand, Rajasthan,West Bengal, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh. J Sumithra, a social worker from the city, said, “Although Jharkhand is known for its forests and waterfalls, I was unaware of its rich tribal culture. I would definitely like to explore and research more on the same.”With holidays around the corner, the Holiday expo- a travel trade exhibition will continue till October 28 in Vizag Conventions, PM Palem from 11 am to 7 pm. The exhibition places a special emphasis on promoting adventure, pilgrimage, beach holidays, hill destinations, honeymoon plans, business trips and medical tourism.While Jharkhand and Rajasthan participated in the expo for the first time, other states have exhibited their new products.
