"Vijayamma recalled how YSR ordered a CBI enquiry into the killing of former TDP minister Paritala Ravi even though allegations were made against his son. She appealed to the conspirators not to harm Jagan again and urged people to protect him.Vijayamma said: "I have lost YSR. She demanded a third-party inquiry into the incident and said the party leaders were seeking the central forces protection to Jagan. A film actor said Jagan would be attacked at Guntur and Godavari. When Naidu was attacked at Alipiri, my husband went and hugged him and said God protected him.

HYDERABAD: Former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's widow Y S Vijayamma made an emotional appeal on Sunday to the people of Andhra Pradesh on the eve of her son and AP opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy set to resume his padayatra.Jagan took a 17-day break from the padayatra after an assailant attacked him with knife at Vishakapatnam airport and caused injury on his shoulder. This was Vijayamma's first public appearance in a year. She talked about the conspiracy behind the attack on Jagan and said it has gained significance at a time when Congress and TDP are cosying up to each other by trying to stitch together an alliance along the lines of Telangana Mahakutami for the next years polls in AP.She said it was TDP-Congress leaders who petitioned the high court that led to the arrest of Jagan by CBI.Vijayamma termed the attempt on her son's life a 'rebirth' for Jagan and blamed AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for arresting the conspirators. The press conference was the first reaction by a Jagan family member after the knife attack. She appealed to the conspirators not to harm Jagan again and urged people to protect him.Vijayamma said: "I have lost YSR. Don't take away Jagan too and hit me on my heart. They have to be accountable to God. The attacker aimed at the neck. Doctors told me that had it cut the carotid artery it would have been fatal. A film actor said Jagan would be attacked at Guntur and Godavari. They didn't carry the attack in public as the reaction would have been serious."She asked why the assailant did not meet Jagan when he has been on the road for four months if he had been a fan. She added: "Even after 17 days, the conspirators are not brought to book. They ridiculed and mocked Jagan. When Naidu was attacked at Alipiri, my husband went and hugged him and said God protected him. He also did dharna at Gandhi Statue against the attack."Vijayamma recalled how YSR ordered a CBI enquiry into the killing of former TDP minister Paritala Ravi even though allegations were made against his son. She demanded a third-party inquiry into the incident and said the party leaders were seeking the central forces protection to Jagan."Even after his government has come to power why is Chandrababu Naidu taking the NSG protection? Does it mean that he has no confidence in his police force? For an impartial inquiry, there should be a third-party probe as cops are trying to hush up the case with false witnesses and distorted versions," said Vijayamma.Vijayamma said the ruling party TDP was in cahoots with Congress to target not only her but also Jagan's wife Bharati by chargesheeting her in a enforcement directorate case."Congress and TDP together have foisted cases on them and made all central agencies such as CBI, I-T, ED to raid and attach their properties. Jagan was jailed for 16 months. No leader in independent India would have faced this much oppression. My husband had worked hard for Congress for more than 35 years," she said.
