Visakhapatnam Quickwitted driver saves 28 from fire

VISAKHAPATNAM: A driver’s timely act on Thursday saved 25 students and their three teachers from a fire. Raju told members from the media that after he noticed the smoke, he stopped the vehicle. He immediately stopped the bus and asked everyone to get down. They alerted the police and the students were transported in another bus. As the students and teachers got down from the bus, fire erupted from the engine and almost the whole of the front part of the bus was burnt .Locals rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

VISAKHAPATNAM: A driver’s timely act on Thursday saved 25 students and their three teachers from a fire. The students were on their way to the Yarada beach on a bus.According to the locals, a school bus of TNR Public School of Pedagantyada , with 25 students from classes VII to XII and three teachers, was on its way to the Yarada Beach on Thursday morning.When the bus reached Gangavaram-Yarada hill road , the bus driver, Appala Raju, noticed smoke emanating from the engine. He immediately stopped the bus and asked everyone to get down. As the students and teachers got down from the bus, fire erupted from the engine and almost the whole of the front part of the bus was burnt .Locals rushed to the spot and doused the fire. They alerted the police and the students were transported in another bus. Raju told members from the media that after he noticed the smoke, he stopped the vehicle.
