File bail plea in special court accusedrsquos lawyer told

The court asked Srinivas’ lawyer to approach the special court at Vijayawada for the bail and “withdraw the petition from this court as the jurisdiction of the case has gone to the special court in Vijayawada”. VISAKHAPATNAM: The lawyer of J Srinivasa Rao, the sole accused in the attack on YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy, has been asked to file bail petition in the special court that takes care of NIA cases. The NIA’s plea to transfer the case from Vizag to Vijayawada was also considered by the metropolitan magistrate’s court.The accused’s bail petition was moved by his lawyer Saleem in the metropolitan session’s judge court on Wednesday. Accused Srinivasa, from Mummadivaram mandal of East Godavari district , is currently in central jail on remand.His lawyer tried to convince the court, but the judge informed him about the jurisdiction aspect. According to sources, the accused is likely to be shifted from Vizag to Rajahmundry soon.

The case details and other materials related to the case are also under the process of being transferred from Vizag to Vijayawada, sources said.Since the NIA filed the FIR and also another memo to transfer the case from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada, the court is likely to give permission for the same. a senior police officer said.
