cldCM to inaugurate energy efficient houses for the poor

The installation of 5-star rated energy efficient appliances is being done through the Andhra Pradesh Power discoms and the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Efficiency Development Corporation ( APSEEDCO ).He said the state has been on the forefront in implementing energy efficiency related program like LED street lighting. Along with tube lights, 5-star rated fans and LED bulbs are also being given.Naidu said Andhra Pradesh has created history by inaugurating four lakh houses intended for the poor. He said NTR Nagars are built on the lines of gated communities.Naidu said implementing energy efficiency measures for the poor was the first time in India. Even the World Bank ranked the State no 1 in Energy Efficiency Preparedness Index, he said.Principal secretary for municipal administration and urban development Karikal Valaven said out of the 5 lakh houses under NTR Nagar scheme in 101 urban local bodies, tenders were finalized for 4,60,492 houses and 3.38 lakh houses have been grounded.Around 1.20 lakh houses were completed. He said the government was providing Rs 13,035 crore as subsidy, physical and social infrastructure and land acquisition apart from providing free land.

Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate 4,800 energy efficient houses as part of the NTR Nagar affordable housing scheme at Venkateswarapuram in Nellore district on Saturday.In a teleconference on Friday with officials, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh set another milestone by providing energy efficiency houses for the weaker sections which will reduce electricity consumption and reduce monthly bills.All the houses in Venkateswarapuram NTR Nagar are fitted with non-breakable poly carbonate diffuser and aluminium housing based LED tube lights which will make the houses more illuminate.
