Visakhapatnam: Two Maoists gunned down

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two Maoists were allegedly killed by the security forces in an exchange of fire incident at Pedakodapalli–Buradamamidi areas in Pedabayalu mandal in Visakha agency in the midnight of Friday. Sources in agency areas say that the deceased were not naxals, but hunters. He said that naxals movement in the border pockets and interior areas of Visakha agency were noticed by the cops for the past few days. A CRPF jawan was also seriously injured in the incident.According to Visakha Rural SP Babujee Attada, the incident took place in the midnight. Because of that only massive forces were deployed to cover up the issue.

Cops are yet to identify the particulars of the deceased naxals. A CRPF jawan was also seriously injured in the incident.According to Visakha Rural SP Babujee Attada, the incident took place in the midnight. Around 20 naxals were at the time of the incident. He said that naxals movement in the border pockets and interior areas of Visakha agency were noticed by the cops for the past few days. “They are with plan to disturb the elections and moving in the sensitive pockets,” he said.Cops suspect that it may be Pedabayalu Area Committee or Nandapur Area Committee as it the place is a crossing point for both the committees.
