New faces in TDP, YSRC to try their luck this time

Two contestants for Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituency, Adari Anand (TDP) and Dr K Satyavathi (YSRC), are also new to the general elections. Visakhapatnam: Two major parties in the state – the ruling TDP and the opposition YSRC — have fielded 14 new faces for the assembly elections and five newcomers for the Lok Sabha elections. Adeep will be facing senior politician and former minister Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy of TDP. KGH doctor B Bangaraiah is contesting from Payakaraopeta in Visakhapatnam district on a TDP ticket, while Kimidi Nagarajuna from Cheepurupalli in Vizianagaram district will face the strongman of Vizianagaram politics, Botsa Satyanarayana. Sources say that severe allegations against Bandaru’s family may make things easier for Adeep.Kotagulli Vijayalakshmi will be crossing swords with sitting MLA Giddi Eswari, who won the last elections on a YSRC ticket and later joined the TDP.

Besides, Jana Sena also has many new faces, including its president Pawan Kalyan who is contesting from Gajuwaka assembly seat, while former IPS officer JD Lakshminarayana will be contesting from the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency.The fight for the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha seat has attracted attention as three candidates are newcomers: TDP’s M Sribharat, MVV Satyanarayana (YSRC) and JD Lakshminarayana (Jana Sena). Two contestants for Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituency, Adari Anand (TDP) and Dr K Satyavathi (YSRC), are also new to the general elections. YSRC’s candidate for the Araku reserved Lok Sabha seat, Goddeti Madhavi, who is the daughter of former CPI MLA Demudu, is also a novice in politics.Most of the newcomers are from the YSRC, which is fielding nine new faces, while the TDP has only five newcomers for the 34 assembly segments in north Andhra. The YSRC has given seats to three new faces for Lok Sabha, while the TDP has given two out of five Lok Sabha seats to newcomers in north Andhra.For the YSRC, former Bheemili municipality chairperson Akkaramani Nirmala will be contesting from Visakhapatnam East, Setti Phalguna from Araku, Kotagulli Bhagya Lakshmi from Paderu and Annamreddy Adeep Raj from Pendurthi. Adeep will be facing senior politician and former minister Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy of TDP. Sources say that severe allegations against Bandaru’s family may make things easier for Adeep.Kotagulli Vijayalakshmi will be crossing swords with sitting MLA Giddi Eswari, who won the last elections on a YSRC ticket and later joined the TDP. In Araku reserved constituency, both candidates are newcomers, including Kidari Sarveswara Rao’s son Sravan Kumar of TDP and Setti Phalguna of YSRC.At Parvathipuram, the YSRC is fielding newcomers M Jogarao and SVC Appala Naidu of Bobbili in Vizianagaram district. Two more first-timers testing their luck on YSRC ticket are Dr Sidiri Appala Raju at Palasa and Perada Tilak from Tekkali in Srikakulam district.Tilak will be contesting against experienced minister Kinjarapu Acchennaidu who has been facing severe allegations of various corrupt practices while Sidiri Appala Raju will face TDP newcomer Goutu Sirisha from the well-known political family of Sardar Goutu Lacchanna. KGH doctor B Bangaraiah is contesting from Payakaraopeta in Visakhapatnam district on a TDP ticket, while Kimidi Nagarajuna from Cheepurupalli in Vizianagaram district will face the strongman of Vizianagaram politics, Botsa Satyanarayana.
