In a recent event in Vizag, Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) cops arrested four persons and seized 2,652 kilograms of ganja load vehicle bearing the Uttar Pradesh registration.
Cops also seized six mobiles and Rs. 4,500 in cash from the container lorry driver.
Another three accused Ramesh of Odisha, Subhash of Paderu and container lorry owner Aliya Nabhi were absconding.
On the tip off, the SEB cops led by assistant enforcement superintendent and SEB inspector conducted vehicle checking at Pendurthi junction and intercepted the container lorry. They seized ganja in 520 packets each containing five kilograms of dry ganja.
On the orders of the container lorry owner Aliya Nabhi of Didouli in Ghaziabad district in UP, Ramesh of Palwal district and Sunil Kumar of Gurugram of Haryana reached Visakhapatnam by flight and took one container at Pydibhimavaram mandal in Srikakulam district.
Both drivers with supporters proceed to Vantalamamidi village in Paderu mandal with the help of Koda Kishore Kumar of Munchingput mandal and Gali Gowri Sankar of Munchigput mandal.
Ganja supplied by Ramesh of Odisha and Subhash of Vantalamamidi village to the container lorry.
SEB had registered 213 cases since the formation of SEB and seized 8,712 kilograms of Ganja in Vizag city.
It is recalled the 3,000 kilograms ganja seized on June 8 of this year and was illegally transporting to Nabi in UP in Parawada police station limits.
SEB cops seized 6,028 kilograms of ganja in June of 2021 alone.
SEB requested the public to inform them of illegal transportation, storage and sale of drugs including ganja, LSD, opium and others.
