Vizag launched Sreenidhi Deccan Football Club

Sreenidhi Deccan Football Club, the latest and the 12th addition to the Hero I-League, was formally launched in the city by state sports minister Muttamsetty Srinivasa Rao at a function held on the beach road on Wednesday morning.

Vizag has been improving a lot and development has been increased in a exponential way. In recent times, sports complexes has been set up in Vizag and new development has taken place in the above sector.

Sreenidhi Deccan Football Club, the latest and the 12th addition to the Hero I-League, was formally launched in the city by state sports minister Muttamsetty Srinivasa Rao at a function held on the beach road on Wednesday morning.

Visakhapatnam Port Trust chairman, K Ramamohana Rao, released the team’s jersey later and wished the team all the success.
Chairman of the Sreenidhi educational group of Hyderabad, KT Mahhe, said that the club would also boost the game locally and in AP also.

It would encourage the local talent, build best facilities, conduct grassroot-level programmes at the schools and renovate football grounds. It has created best facilities in Hyderabad and would replicate them here.

Talent hunt was held across the country a few years ago for the Hyderabad academy and some of the trainees would play for India in THE near future, he said.

The coach of Sreenidhi Deccan FC is Fernando Santiago Varela, who coached last season runners-up Churchill Brothers.

Team selections would be held next month in Hyderabad, informed technical director of the team Fabio Nunes Ferreira, and Mahhe added that one or two players from Andhra and Hyderabad would be in the team.

CEO (leagues) of AIFF, Sunando Dhar, hoped the Sreenidhi Deccan FC would give a boost to the game in the region and general secretary of AIFF Kushal Das was glad that a club from Visakhapatnam entered the I-League.
