more-in The Hindu in association with Essar Steel is organising a poster design and clay moulding contest for schoolchildren on Saturday, on the occasion of World Earth Day. Essar Steel is organising the event as part of their CSR initiative. The theme for the contest is ‘Environment and climate literacy’ and it will be held at VUDA Children’s Arena. For clay moulding, each school should select one model made by the children on the same topic and bring it along with them to the venue for display. There will be two categories: Seniors from class 7 to 9 and Juniors from class 4 to 6. The main objective of this activity is to promote environmental awareness among students. The contest is open to all students in the above categories and those willing to participate should register themselves through email (rama.av@thehindu. co.in) or by calling The Hindu office @ 2536159 / 2536160 / 2536161 on all working days between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The schools are requested to send the list of participants to reach The Hindu on or before 21.04.17.The prize winners will be given certificate of excellence. Prize distribution will be held on the same day at the venue, after the event. Participants are advised to report at the venue by 9 a.m.
