Visakhapatnam boy bags bronze in Hong Kong skating event

VISAKHAPATNAM: City skater Priyam Tated bagged the bronze medal in the junior category (age group of 13-19) during the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy 2017 that was held in Hong Kong from August 2-5.Almost 16 countries from the world participated in the skating event and the championship was divided into sub-junior, junior and senior categories. Out of the 193 participants, three from the City of Destiny — Priyam Tated , Pratham Tated and M Vishal Anand — represented India.Last year, 14-year-old Priyam had earlier bagged a silver medal in the 17th Asian roller skating championship, which was held in Lishui, China. Apart from these, he also has several national level medals to his credit.He will be representing India in the World Roller Games 2017, slated to be held in Nainjing, China from August 27- September 10.Secretary of Sivaji Park Skating Rink Association, Mahendar Tated said that the national-level training for students representing India in the World Roller Games was completed last month by Italian coach Cristina Maria.
