more-in Beer connoisseurs in Visakhapatnam can soon have some locally brewed beer in many flavours as the city gets ready to welcome Andhra Pradesh’s first fresh beer centre, popularly known as microbrewery, next month. The Belgium-themed microbrewery called Myz-Uno — The Brew Pub — will open in the heart of the city at Siripuram above the VIP Central spread over 9,000 sq.ft. “The formalities of setting up the microbrewery have been completed. We received the licence last week. The machinery is ready and the interior work is in progress. We will open by the last week of December,” microbrewery’s founder Rasagna R. Dharmana told The Hindu. The microbrewery will have state-of-the-art unit with raw materials from Belgium brewing six flavours. With an investment of ?5 crore, its entry is expected to augment India’s booming craft beer industry, offering the perfect quaff. Myz-Uno will serve the beer fresh from tank to tap to glass, cutting out the need for kegs, cask or bottling. Chemical-free “The beer will be additive and chemical-free, unfiltered, and un-pasteurized and will be dispensed from eight 300-litre tanks. The founders have been working with Andhra Pradesh for the implementation of smart and sustainable technologies. “After Visakhapatnam, we will come up with a second microbrewery at M.G. Road in Vijayawada. We have a presence in Bengaluru for the past two years where we have partnered with another firm for a microbrewery,” said Ms. Rasagna. The Vijayawada facility will come up at the cost of ?3 crore spread over 8,000 sq.ft. Visakhapatnam’s 250-seat brewery will feature a full bar menu and gastronomical fine dining with mid-century modern interiors featuring reclaimed materials like masonry brick, flooring from old boxcars and wood snow fencing. Two brew masters trained in Germany will head Myz-Uno. Seven Indian cuisines The fine dining section will have seven different Indian cuisines with lounge and club music to enliven the atmosphere. The microbrewery will have a section of imported wines from Spain, Italy and France. “The entire experience will give a feel of a ‘Belgium Beer Tour’. Our goal is to become the solo destination spot for all occasions — a quick bite after work, parties, romantic dates, and family celebrations in the City of Destiny,” she added.
