Mohammed Shami has been accused of several charges after his wife filed a complaint against him, including a charge of match-fixing which dire strait the career of the Indian cricketer.

Acting president CK Khanna said that the participation of the troubled pacer Mohammed Shami in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) will depend upon the outcome of the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit’s (ACU) reports.

As instructed by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai, Shami has been under investigation after the cricketer’s allegation of taking money from a UK-based businessman through Pakistani women named Alishba.

"Since ACU Chief Neeraj Kumar is investigating and has been given a seven-day time frame, any decision will be taken after he submits his report. The final decision will be taken by the CoA," acting president Khanna said on the sidelines of the IPL Governing Council meeting.

The 27-year-old pacer was picked up by the franchise for Rs 3 crore and was to play alongside Delhi Daredevils.

Shami has already been withheld from the central contract by the BCCI in accusations of domestic violence and infidelity charged by his wife Hasin.

The Governing Council decided to allocate the Rs 18 crore in organizing the IPL‘s grand opening ceremony.

"The finance team of BCCI has decided that Rs 18 crore will be spent on the opening ceremony even though the sanctioned budget was Rs 30 crore," Khanna said.

The right-arm pacer had denied the accusations earlier saying he would rather die than do something to comprise his "performance while playing for the country".
