This team disqualifies ICC WC for first time in 35 years
Afghanistan took the cricket frenzy a notch higher by qualifying for the first time in 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England with a thrilling five-wicket win against Ireland.
While Ireland misses out on the tournament proper for the first time since 2003, there is a team who lost the tournament for the first time in thirty-five years.
The team we are talking about is two times champion, Zimbabwe. Team's fate at the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 was similar to that of Scotland, whom they tied against in the last game of the group stage. Zimbabwe got into the Super Sixes with three points and made it five when they got past Ireland in the first game of the second stage. After that, though, it all went south, with losses against Windies and the United Arab Emirates. As a result, in 2019, Zimbabwe will not be a part of the World Cup for the first time since 1983.
World Cup Qualifiers Zimbabwe have almost thrown themselves out of the 2019 world cup qualifiers as they lost to UAE by three runs in a thrilling encounter. Chasing a revised target of 230 runs in 40 overs, the hosts managed only 226 runs. Mohammad Naveed was the star for UAE as he grabbed three wickets and also played a cameo of 22 runs off 10 balls.
