After a humiliating loss against a much lower ranked side like Bangladesh, Australia have comeback strong to level the two match test series. Australia defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the second test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. The win should be credited largely to their star off spinner, Nathan Lyon who completely outfoxed the Bangladesh batsman in their own den.

Lyon finished with an impressive 13 wickets in the second test and it meant that Australia had to chase a meagre 86 runs for victory in the fourth innings. Glenn Maxwell and Peter Handscomb were unbeaten in the end as they guided their team to comfortable victory. The incredible performance saw lyon surpass Shane Warne’s career-best 12-for figures. Lyon’s 13-wickets was just one away from the greatest figures in Test cricket by an Aussie spinner — a mark held by Clarrie Grimmett with 14 poles.
Earlier, in the first innings, David Warner’s magnificient century and Peter Handscomb’s useful half century helped Aussies take a vital first innings lead over Bangladesh. Veteran Bangladesh all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan had been the star performer in the first test but could not make any significant contribution in this match both with bat as well as bowl.
