The discus throw gold medal was won by Valerie Allman (68.98m) of America. While the silver was captured by Germany's Kristin Pudenz (66.86 m). The bronze medal went to Cuba's Yaime Perez (65.72 m).
The final of the women's discus throw event was halted midway due to heavy rain in the Arena.
Players have been allowed to go to their rest rooms.
Initially, it was halted for some time but later it was resumed after some time.
12 athletes are participating in the final. Kamalpreet Kaur made a great start. She threw the discus 61.62 meters away. Kamalpreet finished at sixth place after the first round. Valarie Allman of USA is in first place with a throw of 68.98 meters.
Kamalpreet Kaur's throw in the second attempt was not considered legal and it was not counted. Kamalpreet threw 61.61 meters in the first attempt. Kamalpreet has slipped to the seventh position.

Her third throw was 63.70 meters. She still maintained sixth place. Kamalpreet Kaur's throw in the fourth attempt is not considered legal. Kamalpreet Kaur threw 61.37 discus in her fifth attempt and was at number six. Kamalpreet Kaur's throw in the sixth attempt was also disqualified.
