Virat Kohli has surpassed MS Dhoni’s record of most number of wins by an Indian captain across all formats as he now has 10 wins while Dhoni had 9 consecutive wins under his captaincy.

India had defeated Australia by 26 runs in the first ODI in rain curtailed match. Earlier, Kohli’s team had whitewashed Sri Lanka in the five match ODI series.

Overall, Australia has the record for the most consecutive wins across different formats, having won 20 matches on a trot in the year 2003.
