Dhoni, Bhuvi clinch victory from the jaws of defeat

With a mere 232 runs required in 47 overs, Akila Dananjaya shocked the world by foxing the Indian batsman who became susceptible to his masterful use of the Googly. But Dananjaya’s magic did not prove to be enough in the end as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni took India out of trouble and helped the team clinch the victory from the jaws of defeat.

With a mere 232 runs required in 47 overs and Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan providing a solid start, everyone expected another one sided match.  India even begin experimenting with the batting order but out of the blue, Akila Dananjaya shocked the world by foxing the Indian batsman who became susceptible to his masterful use of the Googly. KL Rahul, Kedar Jadhav, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya-all of them fell like a pack of cards. But Dananjaya’s magic did not prove to be enough in the end as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni took India out of trouble and helped the team clinch the victory from the jaws of defeat.

Dhoni once again proved that he is the coolest cricketer around and when it comes to pressure situations ,nobody can match him. But who would have thought in such a situation , someone like Bhuvneshwar Kumar will end up being the top scorer of the team.

"When you're 110 for 1 in a chase of 230, you want to give everyone a chance to bat. I don't have any regrets. If I had come at No.3, I would have still missed that ball because he (Akila Dananjaya) was bowling that well. It was quite an exciting game of cricket, fans and players must have been entertained. It is good for us to come through eventually. Two 100-run partnerships in a chase of 230 with seven wickets, that's quite bizarre. This kind of thing does not happen in this game often," Kohli said.

With three more matches remaining in the series, fans would hope that they will also be as exciting as the 2nd ODI.
