The nation that gave birth to Cricket finally clinched the most coveted title after 44 years on July 14, 2019, Sunday. The final of  World Cup 2019  will be remembered for two historical events: One, England being champion for the first time and other, for being the most interesting and thrilling match of World Cup history.

Man of the match Ben stokes was   an important person in Lord's on Sunday who helped to end long drought for England.  Ben Stokes who scored 84 runs in the crucial match continued his efforts when the match was taken into Super Over clash. Ben Stokes got 8 runs in the super over that posted a decent  target of 16 runs for New Zealand.

 In the final over of England's chase, Ben Stokes hit Trent Boult to deep mid-wicket and took off for a double but as he dived to complete the second run, the throw from Martin Guptill hit his bat and ran to the boundary for an extra four runs. Stokes immediately put his hands up to apologize but the damage had been done to New Zealand.

Born in New Zealand stokes may have led England to victory but he broke millions of hearts back in his birth nation New Zealand.

After the match, the all-rounder said that he would be apologizing to New Zealand captain Kane Williamson for the rest of his life for the incident.

 "I am pretty lost for words. All the hard work to get here and be world champions, it's an amazing feeling. Playing against New Zealand is always a good event, they are good lads. I will be apologizing to Kane for the rest of my life (the overthrow for the six runs total)...It was written in the stars to happen for us," he was quoted as saying by www.nzherald. co. nz.

On the other hand, it was difficult for Ben's father Gerard Stokes who was watching the final back in New Zealand and cheering for blackcaps whether to celebrate his son's effort or to be sad for his country's loss.

"I've had one or two say I'm probably the most hated father in New Zealand", New Zealand based dad who was delighted for his son's game but then was disappointed for the dramatic loss of his team joked to 1 News-a New Zealand based news agency

 Ben Stokes who was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, moved to northern England at the age of 12 with his family after his father  Gerard Stokes was appointed head coach of Workington Town rugby league club. Ben Stokes learnt the cricket and began playing club cricket for local teams in England. He won the North Lancashire & Cumbria Cricket League Premier Division Title with the club as a 15-year-old in 2006. In 2013 his parents have moved back to New Zealand, Ben stokes continued to play for England.

"I really am disappointed for the Black Caps; it's such a shame someone had to walk away without the trophy. Hand on heart, I am overjoyed for Ben and the team, but I am still a New Zealand supporter." Gerard Stokes told Stuff-New Zealand agency

Ben Stokes parents who saw his son's journey from playing shots in New Zealand to being an important man in World Cup victory of England was proud of his son's  game and told New Zealand based agency Stuff

"He'll be feeling for the Black Caps, but not as countrymen, He would have thought how the New Zealand boys would be feeling. They are very close units; both teams get on well and respect each other."
