Team India bundled out Sri Lanka for another lowly 181 runs to seal the win and a series whitewash for the first time ever in the island nation. After big losses in the previous two matches, this is the third consecutive defeat which has jolted Sri Lanka in their own backyard. Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin had been the pick of the bowlers and were given good support by Mohammed Shami as well. Earlier Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya’s magnificient centuries ensured that India did not need to bat again in this test match.

While Kuldeep Yadav created trouble for the Sri Lankan batsman in the first innings, Ashwin also joined the Chinaman in the second innings and completely confused the Lankan batsman who had no clue.

The Sri Lankan team had been completely outplayed both in the batting and bowling department and having some serious thinking to do for future matches. Both the teams will now compete in a five match one day series which begins from 20th August. Sri Lanka would need to make a strong comeback and atleast show some fight which was hardly visible during the test series.
