Team India for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka has been announced and Yuvraj Singh being axed has turned out to be the biggest surprise. What it has done is put some of the seniors on notice. BCCI is clear that only performance will matter and nothing else. Chairman of selectors on Monday said that they have been discussing about Dhoni’s future during selection meetings, but if he does not perform they will have no option but to look for an alternative.
Prasad said, "You never know. We don't say it is an automatic thing (selection) but we will see. We are all stakeholders. We all want the Indian team to do well. If he is delivering, why not? If he is not, we will have to look at alternatives,"
Prasad talked about Andre Agassi reaching peak of success at the last part of his career and expected tha same from Dhoni. Prasad said that BCCI has introduced a new rotation policy for identifying players for the next World Cup. The selectors have so far identified around 25 players.
