Chelsea has confirmed the signing of attacking midfielder Kai Havertz from Leverkusen for an initial fee of $80 million which could increase up to $100 million including add- on. 21 years old Havertz who is the ray of hope for German players has signed the deal for five years and will be part of Chelsea’s new look attack that also includes fellow new signings Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech.

Kai Havertz has been around seemingly forever, completing his four season at his hometown club recently over the years he has thrived as a player, gradually gone from being the talented youngster to one of the best players in the country. Havertz made his breakthrough at the age of 17 and started 2016-17 seasons with Leverkusen’s under-19 team when he was mere 17 years old he made an appearance as substitute since then he has been unstoppable.’He is an excellent footballer with outstanding technique’’ stated then Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt after Havertz broke into the team.
A left foot player who is at home as an attacking midfielder or as a central forward, Harvetz was top scorer last year with 17 goals in all competitions, in Bundesliga he has scored 36 goals in 118 games where he became the youngest player to reach 100 Bundesliga appearance.

Frank Lampard a free scoring attacking midfielder hopes that Havertz remolded attack can help the team challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for Premier league title in his second season in charge. Lampard relied on Chelsea’s homegrown talent like Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount in his first year as a manager but the team staggered in the second half season and only qualified to Champions League on the final day of the season.
