With just five games — DD vs CSK, RR vs RCB, SRH vs KKR, DD vs MI and SRH vs KKR — to go, five teams continue to be in contention for the two remaining playoff berths. Here are the qualification scenarios:

1) MUMBAI INDIANS

Status: In fourth place with 12 points from 13 games (NRR +0.384)

Remaining match: vs DD on Sunday, May 20

First things first, we need to defeat DD in order to be in contention for a playoff berth. The best part is the boys will know exactly what they need to do because KKR and RCB will have played their respective games before we take the field. It's an advantageous position to be in. Also, we have the best NRR.

2) KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS

Status: In third place with 14 points from 13 games (NRR -0.091)

Remaining match: vs SRH on Saturday, May 19

KKR need to beat table-toppers SRH on Saturday to finish their league engagements with 16 points. That will assure them of the No. 3 spot. But, if KKR lose, then they will be stuck on 14 points. And their NRR will dip further. As a result, their fate will be dependent on MI and RCB.

3) ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE

Status: In fifth place with 12 points from 13 games (NRR 0.264)

Remaining match: vs RR on Saturday, May 19

RCB will have to defeat RR in order to finish with 14 points. Their NRR is second only to that of MI. If RCB lose, then they will be knocked out of the tournament.

4) RAJASTHAN ROYALS

Status: In sixth place with 12 points from 13 games (NRR -0.403)

Remaining match: vs RCB on Saturday, May 19

Ajinkya Rahane & Co. have to beat RCB in order to finish with 14 points. And they will have to win big because their NRR is in the negative. Then, they would want DD to get the better of MI. RR have a better NRR than KXIP, though.

5) KINGS XI PUNJAB

Status: In seventh position with 12 points from 13 games (NRR -0.49)

Remaining match: vs CSK on Sunday, May 20

KXIP's NRR is the lowest. They have to beat CSK by a huge margin and hope that RR beat RCB and DD beat MI
