Lasith Malinga, who returns to the auction pool, has placed himself with a base price of 2 CR along with 8 other prominent names in the same bracket which include -- Brendon McCullum (NZ), Chris Woakes (ENG), Shaun Marsh (AUS), Sam Curran (ENG), Colin Ingram (SA), Corey Anderson (NZ), Angelo Mathews (SL) and D'Arcy Short (AUS).
Protea quicks Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel are in the 1.5 CR bracket along with the English duo of Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales.
The first Indian to hit six sixes in a T20I Yuvraj Singh, wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, right arm-quick Mohammad Shami and all-rounder Axar Patel have all placed themselves in the 1 CR bracket.
Ishant Sharma too will be a part of the auction pool with a base price of 75 Lakh. India’s hero from the 2007 World T20 final, Irfan Pathan, will ask for bids from 50 Lakh onwards.
The eight franchises will be able to accommodate 70 of these players out of which only 20 vacant spots go to the foreign men.
The IPL has also slotted 20 additional players after taking requests from the franchises. These include -- Aaron Hardie who has the bagged the likes of Virat Kohli and Joe Root in warm-up fixtures for CA XI, Australia gloves man Alex Carey, rising Ranji star Ajay Rohera who set a record with a double hundred on debut recently and Vitality Blast’s own hero Pat Brown who snared 31 wickets for Worcestershire.
