Kings XI Punjab will be desperately hoping for a good outing this season. Kings XI Punjab might have bought a gem in 17-year old Prabhsimran Singh. Just 17, Prabhsimran is making the news for all the right reasons in recent times. Cousin of Punjab star Anmolpreet Singh, Prabhsimran has impressed one and all with his big-hitting prowess. Last year, he slammed 298 off just 301 balls against Amritsar in the semi-final of the Punjab U23 Inter-District Cricket Tournament. The batsman, who is yet to make his first-class debut, was also a part of the Indian team that finished runners-up at the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. Unsurprisingly, there was a huge bidding war when the auctioneer called out his name. Kings XI Punjab eventually won the race, shelling out a whopping Rs 4.8 crore to secure his services. And it looks like the Punjab-based outfit is not going to regret the deal. Prabhsimran is not only talented with the bat but also with the wicketkeeping gloves. On Monday, the official Twitter handle of the franchise posted a video of what the fans can expect from their latest recruit. In the video, the teenager could be seen diving full-length to his left side to take an absolute stunner. The batsman could not make proper contact with a short delivery towards the leg-side and ended up edging it behind the stumps. At first, it looked like the batsman will get away with it but Prabhsimran came up with a stunning effort to make the batsman pay for his mistake. A delighted Kings XI Punjab posted the video on Twitter, writing, "Which superhero does @prabhsimran01 remind you of?" Kings XI Punjab eye good show: Kings XI Punjab will be desperately hoping for a good outing this season. After some dismal performances in recent editions, they have already taken some big calls ahead of the upcoming season. They have roped in former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson and ex-India spinner S Sriram while parting ways with mentor Virender Sehwag. Kings XI Punjab are one of the few teams who are yet to lift the title. Their best performance came in 2014 when they made it to the final before losing to Kolkata Knight Riders. Since then they have failed to make it to the playoffs.
