IPL 2019: Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders Preview and Head-to-Head

Both the teams have evenly won 4 matches out of the 5 played. Each have 8 points but due to the difference in net run rate, KKR is holding the first spot on the points table.

The clash is going to be interesting on Tuesday (April 8) when the top two teams Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) will take on each other in M.A. Chidambaram Stadium at Chennai. Both the teams have evenly won 4 matches out of the 5 played. Each have 8 points but due to the difference in net run rate, KKR is holding the first spot on the points table.

Chennai Super Kings won their last game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on the same ground with the scores of Faf du Plessis-54  and MS Dhoni-37. Chennai posted the target of 160/3 in twenty over and with bowlers like Imran Tahir, Ravindra Jadeja and Harbhajan Singh with the economy of 5, 6 and 4.25 respectively halted Punjab at 138/5. The spinner's squad has been so useful for CSK this season and Dhoni will be keen to use them against KKR.

KKR is in superb momentum this time and they have lost only one match which was against Delhi Capitals, that too in the super over clash. In its last match against Rajasthan Royals, KKR won the match comfortably by 8 wickets and 37 balls remaining. Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine gave the perfect start to the team by scoring 50(32balls) and 47(25balls) respectively. Sunil Narine who opens up for KKR  comes with the goal of hitting every ball out of the boundary, and CSK will have to prevent him from staying long. He is not the only man that CSK needs to worry, Andre Russell is the more dangerous man and is in brilliant form who snatched victory from RCB hitting 48 off 13 balls.

This is going to be an interesting clash between the two sides that often regarded as title contenders.
