In an ongoing IPL season we have  seen several new players emerging up to save their team on crucial time. On one hand, there are some big names that have not performed up to their names while there are others who are the one-man army for their team.

Andre Russell

Hard hitter Russell is the biggest asset for Kolkata Knight Riders in this season. He has been so consistent in the five matches that he has not missed a single chance to score except the one against Rajasthan Royals when he did not get to bat. Russell has scored 49 off 19 balls against SRH, 48(17balls) against KXIP, 62(28) against DC and 48(13) against RCB. Russell holds the record of most sixes in the season so far. The player tops in the category of best batting strike rate with 5 matches 207 runs and the strike rate of 268.83

David Warner

Sunrisers Hyderabad's David Warner is another player who deserves an award for his consistency. Warner has just missed out two matches against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians in which he scored 10 and 15 respectively. In rest of the other matches, he scored 85(53balls) against KKR, 69(37) against Rajasthan, 100(55) against RCB and 70(62balls) against Punjab. Warner is the leading run scorer in the tournament so far with 349 runs in 6 matches at the strike rate of 146.63. Warner also holds the record of most fifties so far in the season.

Imran Tahir:

Playing for Chennai, this South African player has left several batsmen confused with his clever spin. Tahir has taken 7 wickets in 5 matches with a superb economy of 5.38. Tahir's best performance in this season has been against RCB in which he took 3 wickets giving just 9 runs in four overs. Tahir is also important for his team because he slows down the batting run rate with his defensive spin attack.
