The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 had to be postponed midway after 29 matches. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to take this step after some players and support staff in the bio bubble tested positive for Covid-19.

New Zealand cricketer Tim Seifert began to cry during an online interaction when he was recounting his experience after he tested positive for Covid-19 during IPL 2021 in India.

Seifert has now returned home after recovering from this and is currently in mandatory 14-day isolation.

In IPL 2021, Tim Seifert was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms in an RT-PCR test, before leaving with fellow New Zealanders after the postponement of the tournament. Seifert is currently on 14-day home isolation inside his home in New Zealand. During this, he participated in an online conversation.

Tim Seifert was treated at a private hospital in Chennai along with Chennai Super Kings batting coach Michael Hussey.

The world kind of stops a little bit." he told reporters in a video call from hotel quarantine in Auckland. "I just couldn’t really think what was next. And that was the scary part of it.

"You hear about the bad things, and I thought that was going to happen to me."
Seifert then was unable to control his emotions and needed a moment to compose himself before going on.

"The news (in India) is all about a lack of oxygen, you don’t know if you’re going to be in that situation," he said.
"It’s just the whole unknown of what COVID is, how you’re going to react to it."

Talking about this, the 26-year-old player handled himself. He took some time to handle himself and after this, he continued to talk further.

He credited Brendon McCullum and Stephen Fleming for helping him during that time.

"They made everything very easy." They made sure everything was right. CSK management and KKR CEO made it easy for me to know that everything will be alright. And when it was time for me to come home, they did everything possible to get me to a safe home. "He said," It was hard to tell for sure, but once a few days passed and everything was a little quiet. All I knew was that I would have to go through this and maintain a positive attitude. ''
