The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) schedule will be changed for the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

According to a cricket website, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has changed the CPL schedule after the request of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Initially, CPL was scheduled from August 28 to September 19. BCCI wanted the CPL to conclude its tournament before September 19. So that the players playing in CPL and IPL do not face any problem. The dates are yet to be confirmed, but CPL 2021 is expected to kick-off a week earlier.

Cricket West Indies President Ricky Skerritt said that 'CWI is doing our best to help facilitate a smooth transition from CPL to IPL, without a conflicting overlap'.

The remaining matches of the IPL are proposed from 19 September to 15 October in the UAE. However, the schedule has not been released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yet.

The board is planning to organize 31 matches in a window of 25 days. According to reports, BCCI is making a new schedule to fit 10 doubleheaders in a window of 25 days. The board can announce the schedule for phase 2 at the end of June.

The Indian team will play the final Test in Manchester and if it goes on till the fifth day, it will end on 14 September. The next day IPL players from India will reach Dubai from Manchester by a chartered plane.
