IPL 2019

IPL has, since its inception been a huge sporting event with a lot of money, effort and players involved. The teams which qualified for the playoff’s offs were the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, which was so renamed from Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The gold in the men’s’ category was won by Kento Momota from Japan, which P Sainath, from India, managed to clinch a bronze.

Rugby World Cup

The Rugby World Cup, which is the third-largest sports event worldwide, after the Summer Olympics and the Football World Cup also took place in 2019. England defeated the tournament favourites New Zealand to enter the finals and South Africa and clinched their spot in the finals by defeating Wales.  South Africa won the tournament and Siya Kolisi made history to become the first Black player to lead his team to victory. The match was almost a repeat telecast of the 2007 final where South Africa had one by defeating England.
