GREATER NOIDA: Nearly 500 products were displayed by 119 exhibitors at the six-day Auto expo which concluded on Wednesday. The Auto expo has been welcomed by visitors and manufacturers alike. There were 25 electric vehicles showcased in the expo. Over 6.05 lakh people visited the mega event compared to 6.01 lakh in 2016, sources said.The expo had 53 original vehicle manufacturers showcasing over 100 products, which included 22 launches, 81 product unveilings and 18 concept showcase.There were 14 new brands including Kia Motors India, India Kawasaki Motors and Cleveland CycleWerks. The show witnessed a tremendous response on social media as there were more than 1.5 lakh tweets on its official hashtag #AutoExpo2018 which further garnered over 4.5 billion impressions on Twitter in a span of six days.
Electric Vehicles or EV’s have definitely become the talk of the town, and talking of the ongoing mega auto event, EV’s took the center stage without any doubts. Following the support of the government the event was loaded with a number of concept cars, electrics bikes and buses.
“We wanted the government school students to gain exposure to the happenings in the automobile world and what better chance than the ongoing auto expo. The district administration organised the trip for the schoolchildren and was assisted by HCL and the organisers of the auto expo. Five buses were used to ferry the children from blocks Dadri, Jewar and Bisrakh to the auto expo venue in Greater Noida. Wednesday will be the last day of the 14-day auto expo motor show. The ongoing Auto Expo at the India Expo Mart is attracting lakhs of visitors from across NCR and beyond. Naturally, with several thousand cars and buses visiting the area every day, it has thrown traffic out of gear in the Knowledge Park II area of Greater Noida.
