There are certain forms of entertainment that are trending a bit higher than others. While some might be surprising, these are the top entertainment trends happening throughout the next year.

Streaming Services

Perhaps at the top of the list of growing entertainment trends is video streaming. What began as a bit of a niche means of “cutting the cable” has grown into an industry that is expected to hit a whopping $146 billion in revenue by 2028. Almost everyone is partaking in streaming at this point.

The biggest streaming platforms, called paid over-the-top (OTT) services, feature names like Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, and a litany of others. Users can find the top shows and movies, live television, and just about any niche you could hope for. Streaming is just starting to gain steam and there are tens of millions of subscribers out there already.

Mobile Casinos

Mobile gaming as a whole is becoming quite popular. For that reason, it should come as no surprise that the mobile casino realm continues to see growth. Casino games are quite popular as it is, so it makes sense that users would want to take their gaming experience to a mobile device. That “anywhere, anytime” access is one of the best features.

Casinos have remained a popular form of entertainment throughout the decades. As online casinos continue to grow, the explosion of mobile casinos will be right there with it. With 1 billion monthly active users around the globe, TikTok has created a trend all its own. Social video will only continue to grow as more users move to use exclusively mobile devices for all of their surfing and perusing.

Cloud Gaming

Another growing entertainment trend is gaming, as a whole. Within that market is a niche all its own. Cloud gaming has brought friends together to challenge one another, and strangers to share their love of a game, and has allowed popular streamers to now reach millions of viewers and even make a living from doing so in the process.

There are an estimated 3.2 billion gamers in the world. Given the growth of cloud gaming, it could be the most important trend by 2025. Even better, cloud gaming allows streaming video game content to be reached from devices like laptops, desktops, consoles, phones, and tablets.

You no longer need a costly computer or gaming console to enjoy cloud gaming. With augmented and virtual reality still in their infancy stages, plus the growth of esports as a wagering option, gaming is more popular than it has ever been. Where it stops, no one can say.
