Former India captain Rahul Dravid will be the coach of Team India on the tour of Sri Lanka. Dravid has been the head coach of India A and Under-19 team. India won the Under-19 World Cup in 2018 under his tenure.
The Indian cricket team is set to tour Sri Lanka in July. Former India veteran Rahul Dravid will take over the coaching of Team India for the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka. Currently, Dravid is the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA); he has been the coach of India 'A' and Under-19 teams before. Dravid is going to join the senior team for the second time after working with the boys as a batting consultant during the England tour in 2014.
An official told ANI, "Team India's coaching staff will be in the UK and the young team should be guided by Dravid as he has already worked with almost all India 'A' players. This will help the young players and they'll get an additional benefit. "
Dravid has served as the head coach of India-A and India U-19 team from 2016 to 2019. It was under his tenure that India's Under-19 team became runners-up of the World Cup in 2016 and champions in 2018. He was made the director of the National Cricket Academy(NCA) by the BCCI in 2019.
The Indian team will reach Sri Lanka on 5 July for a limited-over series. They will play 3 ODIs, the first match will be played on 13 July, the second on 16 July and the third match on 19 July. After this, the three-match T20 series will be played. The first match of the T20 series will be played on July 22, the second match will be played on July 24 and the third match will be played on July 27. All matches will be played at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
