Lahore Qalandars registered a resounding victory against Islamabad United in the second phase of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021. Rashid Khan performed brilliantly with the ball and then with the bat, giving Lahore Qalandars a stunning five-wicket win. The second phase of the PSL began on June 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Lahore Qalandars chased down the target of 144 runs for the loss of five wickets in the last ball drawn match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Rashid Khan took one wicket for just 9 runs in four overs and returned not out after scoring 15 runs in 5 balls.

Lahore Qalandars won the toss and invited Islamabad United to bat. Islamabad United scored 143 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. After the failure of the top order batsmen, the lower order batsmen of Islamabad United took the team to this score. Faheem Ashraf played the highest innings of 27 runs. Hasan Ali scored 14 runs in 9 balls. James Faulkner took three wickets for 32 runs in four overs, while Ahmed Daniyal and Harris Rauf took two wickets each.

Captain Sohail Akhtar scored 40 runs for Lahore Qalandars. Mohammad Hafeez was dismissed after scoring 29 runs. Tim David and Rashid Khan shared a quick 22-run partnership for the sixth wicket and gave the team victory. David returned not out after scoring 23 runs off 15 balls. In the last over, Lahore Qalandars needed 16 runs to win. On the first three balls of Hussain Talat, Rashid Khan hit four fours to get Lahore Qalandars back in the match. After this, together with Tim David, led the team to victory. Rashid Khan was given man of the match for his all-around performance.
