FIFA U-17 WC: India face sternest test against Ghana
This might be India’s last appearance in a World Cup for a long time unless they host U-20 WC, thus the boys will like to put up a show for fans.
Before the World Cup started many thought India’s performance in the tournament would be borderline embarrassing but everything changed from the very first game as the young guns proved everyone wrong through their grit, determination and most importantly through their performance. Their transformation from outsiders to valiant fighters have drawn all-round praise.
India faces another test of character against former champions and the strongest team in the group Ghana. The boys have never encountered a side like Ghana, even during their two-year preparatory phase, they are not just physical but equally skilful, making it a lethal combination.
India are likely to be without their influential skipper Amarjit Kiyan and Anwar Ali as both are nursing injuries and doubtful for Thursday’s match. That could spell doom for India, who are dreaming of getting three points from this and miraculously progressing to the Round of 16. Without this influential duo, India’s task has only got tougher.
In the past two games, India showed that they are a disciplined side and will look to take advantage of it, provided they are not a physical team.
